South Korea Trip - Day 1 Part 1

Last year when AirAsia launched new route to South Korea with incredible low prices, we managed to secure seats with only RM295 for two ways. We booked the flight from 12th - 20th of May 2011 for 9D8N.

Finally that day came and we took KLIA transit from Bandar Tasik Selatan to Salak Tinggi station and change bus to LCCT.

Upon arrival at Incheon airport, it was 9:26pm at night 12th of May 2011.

(For your information, South Korea timezone is one hour earlier than Malaysia.)
We have to take a train to main terminal and claims our luggage.

Only few custom counters were opened for immigration passport check, as usual we queued up in Foreign passport line.

Custom officer was so cool, later we proceed to claim our luggage at counter 8. You may check your luggage claims details from this dashboard. We took some times to find my luggage as all luggage looks alike.

Earlier before the trip, I have made some surveys on web on transport to Seoul, train is the fastest way to reach Seoul. As planned earlier, we took AREX trains to Seoul station; change Blue color Line 1 subway train to our hostel - Seoul hostel which located near by Exit 7 Jongno 3(sam) ga station.

The AREX train will takes approximately 53 mins to reach Seoul station and another 10 mins to reach Jong no 3(sam) ga station. Here is the list of fares and time for AREX train.

There's another options which you can choose bus to go Seoul which costs 10,000 won or 9000 won with discount coupon but we preferred the first options.

As we did not have T-money(same as touch N go card), we bought 3 single journey tickets which cost 3,700 won per way for AREX train.

We can take back 500 won deposit when return the ticket at Deposit Refund machine located at the exit of  each Subway station..

Upon arrival at Seoul Main station, we took Metro Line 1(Blue colour) to Jongno 3(sam) ga station. The ticket cost 3,000 won and 1,500 won for deposit, total 4,500 for 3 person.
Tips: It's cheaper to use T-money which cost 900won per trip, save 100 won for every trip.

Finally we reached our hostel - Seoul Hostel at 11:30pm night. Luckily the hostel counter was still opened.

The room charges is 60,000 won per night for 3 persons, we need to pay 10,000 won for room key deposit and here is our room: 2 bed and one extra matress with bathroom attached.

Directions to Seoul Hostel:
1) Once reach Jong-no3(sam) ga station, take exit 7 follow Orange Line 3 color direction. You'll pass by
     this small alley.

2) Once exit from Exit no 7, you will see this shop. Walk to opposite road from the traffic lights and go straight all the way

3) Walk straight, you'll pass by a Family Mart store and stop at the alley next to Cake Muzium. Walk into the alley and you'll see a Pub name G:ru on left, walk staright and turn left when pass by the pub.

4) Walk straight again until you see a small restaurant shop name with Yellow colour advertisement board, you'll see Seoul Hostel immediate after a right turn from the restaurant.
