Accomodation Post: Trip Yangon, Myanmar - Last jewel of Indochina
For accomodations in Yangon, Myanmar, personally I would personally recommend to stay in better hotel such as 5 star which the price list is not too expensive as expected. Estimated room rates per night is RM250 after converted from USD.
As mentioned in earlier post, I won 3 days 2 nights trip to Yangon and extended a night for my trip.
Thanks to Chatrium Hotel, Yangon whom sponsored my accomodations during my stays in Yangon city, Myanmar.
CHATRIUM Hotel Royal Lake Yangon is a beautiful 5-star City Resort located right in the heart of the Yangon City, along the western shore of Royal Lake (Kandawgyi Lake) and Kandawgyi Natural Park. Facing to the magnificent Shwe Dagon Pagoda, the hotel enjoys the great ambience where one can find ideal for both business and pleasure.
The hotel was built in Colonial Style with revived Asian and Eastern architectural design featuring the splendor of bygone days.
We were greeted by the staff at main hotel main entrace upon arriving the hotel. Twin room was provided to us. A bellboy helped us bring our luggage to the room and was expected to give tips to them. Can't remember how much I gave but it depends on your generousity.
The room is spacious and although it's a bit faded but reasonbaly clean.Small fridge is provided with different types of cans drink and mineral waters.
The room we got did not face Shwedagon Pagoda and the Royal Lake but still we are good with the current room. Overall the room is quite good with the 5 star ratings. The bathrooms are large and spacious as well
During our stay, the staffs were very polite, friendly and English speaking. For room payment, they also accept credit cards, but charge an additional 7 percent for using a card rather than actual US dollars. US notes must not be folded or older than 2006 else they will not accepted it.
For the breakfast, I'm definately in love with it. It was International buffet for breakfast and they have my favourite Japanese food in the food selections. A variety of different country food are available for selection, Chinese food, Myanmar local food, Western food, Thai food and Japanese. It is great for a lovely morning with lots of different food selections. In terms of drink, coffee and tea are provided as usual with additional of differents kinds of juice available to choose too.
The setting of the swimming pool among magnificent tall trees makes one feel like you are swimming in a beautiful, well appointed river in the middle of a tropical rain forest. In lovely morning, breakfast at the pool side was so amazing. The breakfast is served until 10:30AM and the staff was really so cool and friendly.
Overall, The Chatrium is a true five star hotel with spacious room, well appointed with decorative art and beautiful wood teak wood paneling, not to forget the delicious and variety breakfast served in the morning. If you need a taxi, just let them know and the staff will get you a taxi with reasonable price.
