Motherhood journey: Part 1: Registration with Klinik Kesihatan Ibu Anak ~~ First step of motherhood journey start

Wonder how to register with Klinik Kesihatan Ibu Anak(KKIA) to get the free maternity check up service from government?


Let me show you the ways to start with it, following are according to Kuchai Lama branch method

1. Go to any of the KKIA branch near you (must be the one near to your billing home address) and inform them you would like to have the gynae service with them. Give them the following and appointment date will be given
a. Name
b. Address
c. Contact
d. Last date of periods(which indicate the day shows pregnancy positive)

2. Go for the first follow up on the date appointment, put the paper given on the reception table when enter the KKIA, you will see lots of pink color book been stacked together as methods for queue and get the number for registration.

3.Upon name called, go up to Level 1 and put your queue number with the paper given in Step 1 for registration. Another queue number will be given and then just wait for your turn to be call for follow up.

4. Each visit to KKIA will be require for urine and blood (for sugar level test)test. So once your number call just be prepared for test.

5. Once Step 4 done, wait for your turn to see the nurse for first check up, which consists of baby heart rate check, blood pressure check and the nurse will ask question on your maternity info, delivery location such as which hospital intended to go for.

6. If your condition is good and no further issue such as high sugar level or others woman health issue then you may back home after see the nurse, else will be required to meet up the doctor on site for ultrasound check. Supplements will be given each visit such as New Obimin and calcium, if you're lack of zinc then zinc will be given as well.

NEW OBIMIN consists of the following vitamins, hence usually folic acid is not required to take it seperately.
Vitamin A - 3000 IU
Vitamin B1
Vitamin B2 - 2.5 mg
Vitamin B6 - 15 mg
Vitamin B12 - 4mcg
Vitamin C - 100mg

7. Following up each service will be every once a month except on the last month in which every 1 week will be required to visit  KKIA for frequent check. When reach 6 months onward, one exercise will be given to jot down the number of movement of baby in the pink book daily. At least 10 times movement should be feel to ensure baby still in good conditions, else a visit to hospital will be required for further check up. In the pink book, you may see lots of pregnancy info such as food intake, prenatal exercise info, baby jaundice info.
