Food Reviews: Onde Onde , The Waterfront @ Parkcity: Part 1

The Waterfront is the iconic retail entertainment center of Desa ParkCity. Here is the places for a great shopping and dining experience by the lake. Also, there's one hidden restaurant name Onde Onde, offering a delicious Nyonya style cuisine.

Nestled in the lake fronting shoplots of Desa Parkcity, Onde Onde focusses on bringing scrumptious Nyonya and local delights to residents in the neighbouring housing areas.  Placing strong emphasis on delivering great taste and food quality are the business’ laurels. onde onde believes that when serving local food to the Malaysian public, one has to deliver results, by surpassing consumer expectations as Malaysians know their food well.

Food reviews session was being arranged by Mr Syed Abdul Muiz Bin Syed Zulkifli, person in charge for Onde Onde on Tuesday 13th of December 2011. Upon arrival, we were brought to our seat and refreshed by Japanese Cucumber Sour Plum Juice, RM5.90. The mixed combinations of sour plum and Japanese cucumber was absolutely great, the taste is just right.

Next coming up was the toasted bread slices(Roti Bakar) with scrumptious spread of margarine and kaya. According to Mr Syed, the kaya is freshly made everyday by the staff using the finest ingredients; and something different on the kaya was, duck egg is being used instead of the chicken egg which make the taste better.
It’s ‘kaya’ is home-made, using a traditional recipe of duck-eggs, fresh coconut milk and ‘Gula Melaka’ as key ingredients. It involves 7 hours of continuous and gentle stiring to prevent the ‘kaya’ from over-caramelizing or cuddling.

Up next is to enjoy a cup of aromatic and creamy coffee while enjoying the toasted bread
Cozy environment, air-conditioning with customized chairs and tables. All of these have been put in place for a comfortable dining experience.

A rice noodle roll (also translated as steamed rice roll) 豬腸粉, is served in Onde Onde as well. A thick sweet prawn/shrimp paste is poured over the dish upon serving.
